Remove liquid glue from press-on nails during application

If you accidentally get liquid glue on your press-on nails during application, don't worry! It's happened to all of us.

You can easily fix this with an acetone-based nail polish remover. It's much easier to remove the glue from the press-on nail as soon as it happens rather than waiting for it to set, so it's best to get ahead of it as soon as you can.

Depending on how much glue is on the press-on nail, you can gently and carefully file it down. This will require a little patience, but it'll come off. Just trust the process.

While we're often told to avoid using acetone on press-on nails to prevent damage, especially if we want to reuse our set, rest assured that acetone won't harm your press-on nails as long as we're not soaking them. We're merely rubbing away the nail glue on the press-on nail.

So here's what you need to do:

  1. Grab your acetone-based nail polish remover – 100% acetone will work best and quickest.

  2. Soak a cotton pad or ball, or a q-tip if that's what you're using, but not to the point of it dripping.

  3. Gently place it on top of the affected area and with light pressure, rub off the nail glue until its gone. This might take a while. Tip: If there's a large amount of nail glue and is proving to be stubborn, grab a nail file or buff and lightly file the affected area before rubbing it with acetone, this will help break down the glue.

If you want to remove your press-on nails completely, follow these steps.
